In response to Visit Viet Nam Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – the Mekong Delta, from November 15 – 18, 2015, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with People’s Committee of Ha Noi City and localities in the Mekong Delta will organize Mekong Delta Culture and Tourism Week 2015 in Viet Nam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts (2 Hoa Lu Street, Ha Noi).
The Mekong Delta Culture and Tourism Week in Ha Noi aims to promote tourism potentials, honor typical cultural values of the Mekong Delta, contribute to investment attraction and socio-economic development of localities in the region. This is also an opportunity for localities to strengthen cooperation and experience exchanges on organization of culture and tourism activities.
This event attracts visitors with a variety of highlight activities such as its opening ceremony which will take place at 20h00 on November 15 with the theme “Night honoring cultural heritage of the Mekong Delta”; exhibition “Colors of Culture and Tourism of the Mekong Delta” with display area for cultural space of Mekong Delta wetland region (agricultural tools, living supplies, boats, clothes, musical instruments…) and area introducing cultural identity, historical relics, landscapes, heritage sites of localities in the Mekong Delta through photos, artifacts, art models, traditional art performances…
In the framework of the event, there are also other attractive activities including art program “Mekong Timbres”, exchange program “Exploring the Southern land”, food festival, workshop on “Preserving cultural heritage and tourism of the Mekong Delta”…
On this occasion, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kien Giang Province will organize program to introduce a series of activities in the framework of Visit Viet Nam Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – the Mekong Delta. In particular, many activities with national scale will be held in Kien Giang Province, including opening and closing ceremonies, Mekong Delta culinary festival, photo exhibition of Viet Nam’s sea and islands, promotional activities, national tournaments…
